Planning to go to the gun range for my first time tomorrow

To be fair, even as a proud Texan who defends my fellow Texans as being warm and welcoming, it is possible to walk into a bunch of shooters and be made to feel unwelcome. It's pretty rare but there are clubs and competitions that are way too insular. The same is true of every interest in life.

I suggest you try again and don't be discouraged. Come to Hicksville. (Somebody already mentioned that, didn't they?) I'll do my best to make sure you have a good time and feel welcome.

Black_Rufus, part of the problem is living in Little Elm. There are some backwoods, hillbilly dumbasses in that town. They don't have respect for their family much less an outsider.

I know of 3 ranges within 30 minutes of you that are very nice and have great people shooting in them. Eagle gun range in Lewisville, Sportsmans Shooting center in Grapevine and the new Frisco gun club.

Not to harp on what has already been said, but take a close look at how you come off to other people, that may be part of the problem. I am born and raised right here in the North Dallas area, and yes I agree with you about there being some Douche Bag people. I am sure they are everywhere too.

I hope to meet you one day and share an afternoon of shooting.
