Genuinely surprised I couldn't find a thread on PEW Science and his work. PEW Science was founded by an engineer, Jay, and he conducts sound signature testing for suppressed weapons systems. Jay's Instagram where reviews are posted can be found here.

The tests conducted cover all weapon platforms, but in this OP I will link only the MK18 semi-auto rifle. For semi-auto rifles, the MK18 is the designated test platform for 5.56.
Overall silencer operational performance is a function of several parameters, some of which are interrelated:
In the interest of keeping the initial post short I'll include the results from the two top suppressors; the Surefire RC2 and the Otter Creek Labs Polonium.
Other popular manufacturers have also been reviewed. Such companies include:
Surefire SOCOM556-RC2
MSRP: $1,199
Otter Creek Labs Polonium
MSRP: $550

Overall silencer operational performance is a function of several parameters, some of which are interrelated:
- Host weapon characteristics (barrel length and action type).
- Cartridge
- Ammunition type.
- Accuracy influence on the host weapon.
- Flow restriction (back pressure).
- Durability and maintenance factors.
- Total weight and size envelope.
- Sound signature suppression.
- Flash signature suppression.
