Put a buddy on a big boar this morning about 4am. He rode the bolt up on his AR and it didn't get into battery. A click and a quick yank of the charging handle resulted in a double feed and a suspicious hog 100 yards out and giving us the stink eye. When he started cursing his rifle, I snapped in and popped the hog in the brain.

One shot of 9mm from 100 yards dropped him dead in his tracks...

Awesome, I was really tempted to try hog hunting with a 9mm carbine but wasn't sure if it would do it. Ammo recommendations?(sorry for the Hijack)

    100 yards with a 9mm, wow

Sweet kill. Who said the 9mm was a wimpy round.....

Cut his head off and mount the skull. When people ask about the hole, explain the 9mm thing. Give the rest to some mexicans in trade for tamales.

Way to back up your buddy, good job. Does he need another lesson on how to handle his rifle, or will this experience do the trick?? Goes to show that sometimes that forward assist can be a good thing.............well if you use it.

pvtsnowball82 I would bet there is no story, just a posed shot. However she is a pretty girl, too bad we don't have some photo's of her in man cave type of outfits. :)

I've seen people who will continue to ride the charging handle/slide forward no matter what you say, this would be one hell of a way to see why it's a bad thing to do.

Cheap Winchester 147 grain JHP. It's a hand load, but its the same bullets as the White Box JHPs. I've started loading XTPs now but have 100 or so of these left from a couple years back. They've scored plenty of one shot kills on skunks, raccoons and now hogs.

i'm not questioning if you can hit a piece of steel at 200yds. but how much energy does that bullet retain at 200yds? how about 100yds?

you always go hog hunting with 9mm JHP?
