[Kansas judge Phillip] Journey says in addition to his own election, Jeff Knox, Rocky Marshall, and Dennis Fusaro were all elected to three-year terms, while current board member and reformer Owen "Buz" Mills won re-election for another three-year term. As John Richardson notes over at Only Guns and Money, the election also resulted in several long-time board members losing their seats.

I'm disappointed that Gun Owners Action League executive director Jim Wallace wasn't re-elected, and I hope that he runs for the 76th Board Member seat, which will be chosen during the upcoming NRA Annual Meeting.

The Texas CHL forum management still sucks. I haven't been able to log in for more than a year. Supposedly too many password attempts, but no mod ever sends a PIN when I try to reset. I've noticed that some days there will only be a single post. I thought that with Charles Cotton off the NRA board, he might look at fixing TCHL. Not so apparently. I'm glad I found this site.

ETA: OK, I haven't been keeping up with current events. I knew he replaced LaPierreed when he resign, but thought he was ousted in the last election. Is he still there?

Nope, Cotton is still in charge.

I'm also disappointed that Jim Wallace wasn't re elected. Jim is a tireless activist for gun owners in a state that is very, very unfriendly to law abiding gun owners.

And one more election at NRA Convention on Sat, May 18th. Voting members present can elect one board member that day. Who is best candidate?

    I'd recommend Jim Wallace.

He won election as the 76th director.

Reform candidates take over key positions at NRA Hq. Read more at NRA-ILA blog.

Today, the Board of Directors of the National Rifle Association of America elected former U.S. Congressman Bob Barr as President of the NRA and Doug Hamlin as NRA Executive Vice President & CEO.

In another blog I read that Doug Hamlin used to run the publications division at NRA.

The Reform Movement now controls the majority of the leadership positions! As a side benefit, Charles Cotton was finally pushed out.

It all started with bullet voting for 5 reform candidates to fill 25 board member seats. 5 out 75 total board member seats sounds insignificant, but they emboldened existing board members to speak out about their frustrations without fear of retaliation.

This was successful in spite of voter participation of 80K votes out of 2 million ballots mailed out. If only people would stop thinking their vote doesn't matter and not give up on the NRA!

My friend Mark Vaughan was elected as 2nd Vice President! That has motivated me to join the Golden Eagle level of NRA Membership

The NRA leadership was responsible for low voter turnout.......The members are disillusioned and have for the most part wandered away......due to our previous NRA leadership straying and wandering away from our members for their own gain................

I vote and will continue to do so.......only time and the new leaderships actions can get me to start contributing cash to the NRA again.............

While I have long stopped donating and promoting membership, I never lost hope that the NRA Org. would survive.......maybe it now will....

    I still hope so......
