NextGen TV

For those of us who use an antenna for our TV stations, especially local stations, I understand that we will need to rescan our stations Monday May 6th after 2pm.

Maybe this requirement to rescan is only for the San Antonio area?…. I have no idea. I’m just going by what KSAT is saying.

Maybe if you understand this NextGen TV stuff, you might educate the rest of us?

If you have a TV with NextGen, or an external NextGen TV box, you have to rescan to find the KSAT channels. Sounds like NextGen TV is new to KSAT, or they're adding channels.

It's good to occasionally re-scan the channels, definitely will now. FYI if you use Dish and have an OTA you can use it through the Dish box with the ability to record air TV. Plus now the bedroom TV can see those channels.

Re-scanned mine, thanks Tip, no new channels but a bunch of new sub-channels. As in 55 now has 55-1,-2,-3,-4.

Today's junk mail included an advertisement from directv. They must think I have a short memory in my old age. as their service continually got worse, their prices increased.

My antenna is on the wall behind the TV, I have over 65 channels but there are a lot I don't watch. Vietnamese or Spanish channels.
