Need to develop a load for 223 subsonic.

If you have a subsonic load that you use for 223 with a can or without a can, let me know what you're doing. Powder, bullet weight, can or no can. Need details please.

Good luck on that! 223/556 is not meant to be suppressed, a b ullet screaming over 3000fps, is
hard to tame!.... im playing with a 300blk now, with some 1680 powder, trying todecide whether cast bullets are the way to go. Short shots at pigs is no problem in dispencing useless hogs on the farm here, but a 125grn goes clean through them!
Work in progress here. Pigs are taking a break for now, none around over last 3 weeks.....
On your 223, you might get away with using single shot or bolt guns, but not AR semi auto action types. Squilb loads are a problem!.....besides, think largest bullet is 79 or 80grains, they are hard to slow down!....

    good luck....

I have tried but did not succeed in making a "cycling" .223 load.
The trick is to get the heaviest bullet that fits the cartridge (i.e. 75/77 gr), with the right charge that sends it down the range under 1100 fps.

Can THAT be done? In short yes, but can it be done where it cycles the action?... AFAIK, it cannot.
It has been years though, and I don't remember the full loads I used.

ETA: I also remember that they were not very accurate either beyond 50 yards or so.
