I was looking through a rifle magazine earlier today and saw a ad for Black Hills 262 ammo for sale.

Got me to wondering what powder & primer combo they used, or have any of y’all had any luck in duplicating this particular load?

Pretty sure some of the early 223 and 308 stuff was rl15 but that wouldn't be my first personal choice as its not overly known for its stability across all Temps. I would look at 8208, varget and rl16.

Had a talk this evening with a friend back in AZ who loads his own too.

He said the closest he’s come to matching the ballistics on the 262 load was with Ramshot TAC.

Unless things have change tac was not well known for many years regarding temp stability. Something of possible merit is that a majority of the inconsistent verbiage on it being such seem to hinge around the longer/heavier projectile loads. Know that could mean either a that the guys running such loads care more about chrono numbers because that typically matters or that they saw significant pressure spike issue's.
