I need to have my Dr. check for this next time.
I have not seen anything on my results that seem to show this.
If the excess is converted to Estradiol you will feel like you did before treatment began, no matter how high the total T number goes.

I'd rather be a little lower on total T and keep the E down. It's a ratio game. Everything needs to be within spec or the body will start fighting it.

So on a side note, anyone in here having their A1C checked?

Turns out hypogonadism (low T) can bring on type 2 diabetes....

My latest blood work shows me 0.1% above the max recommended. So I'm just a tick above the redline and am now considered pre diabetic. Yay.

Anyway, I hope to successfully adapt to a Paleo lifestyle and trim the carbs back......way way way back. Bread is my crack. Since I want to enjoy a glass of whiskey periodically, I'll have to adjust my diet to create wiggle room.

I just rechecked my last 2 results, and the free was on there.

My last A1C was 7.8, very high for a non-diabetic.
I have been pre-diabetic for several years now.
Hopefully bringing my T levels up will help with the pre-diabetes.
My triglycerides were double what the recommended high level is.

I was told to diet, keep away from sugar, eat lots of fish.
    Down a little over 10lbs.

Damn, I thought anything over 6.4% was considered diabetic.

Glad to hear you're working on getting it down though. Keep up the good fight.

    I agree with scap99 here.
How does JohnnyLoco know that someone doesn't have hypogonadism, damaged testicles, kidneys, or a faulty pituitary gland?
These are the only valid medical conditions for which testosterone should be prescribed, but how would JohnnyLoco know that?

JohnnyLoco may have been influenced by the fact that there are several articles out there by respected medical organizations addressing the problem where several garbage clinics prescribe testosterone to males that have low testosterone just because they're old, or just because they have lower than normal testosterone at baseline.

One could assume from ZX9RCAM's post that his doctor is prescribing testosterone incorrectly

BUT, It's always wrong to assume.

And I don't know anything particular about anyone's cases, so I apologized if I offended someone or it seemed like I was jumping to conclusions. I hear this stuff about pre-diabetic, triglycerides and insulin, well I'm just hear to tell anyone who will listen, testosterone levels in men is connected to insulin sensitivity/resistance, body fat, and intake and processing of proper fats, i.e. essential fatty acids, medium chain triglycerides, etc. I also am here to tell you that it is a proven fact that cholesterol lowering drugs necessarily lower testosterone, because your body needs cholesterol to produce testosterone. I don't care if your body is messed up six ways to Sunday, even if you are on testosterone, that is not a license to be 20 pounds or more overweight, or greater than 15% body fat, and eat all the cake and doughnuts you want, hell even any alcohol or any insulin spiking foods like bread, pasta, rice, potatoes, fruit juices, and most sweet fruit. Same goes for eating bad fats, i.e. all fried foods, all refined oils, only exception being fats from eggs, beef, fish, coconut oil, flax, butter, and raw milk products, especially goats milk. The processing of these fats requires good liver and gallbladder functioning, and there are supplements that help support this, but overall not drinking or eating a lot are the biggest factors.

Even if you have some problems, like I know a few guys without thyroids or gallbladders, it just means that you have to basically not eat much, and not eat hardly anything that is bad for you, and stay in shape. It doesn't mean you can follow the standard shitty American diet and expect the drugs to make your body function normally.

I will tell you this, both me and my doc are dead set against statin drugs, so we agree on that.

    What's the free T number?
    What's your Estradiol number?

I'm also curious on the reason you want to bump it over 900. Is there another reason other than you just want it to be higher?

The tests do not come back with any other numbers other than the 785. I have never had any provider ever offer any other numbers, talk about the two questions you asked, or even attempt to suggest anywhere I could find this information. The internet is the only place I have been able to find medical information for the past five years.

Interesting..., my Type II condition was much worse when my T was down. It got as high as 9.5. Other than a lot of stress at work couldn't figure why it was up. Recently was ck'd and it down to 6.8. I went on a low carb diet and thought that's why it came down. Could also be my T level which was in the mid 300 last time I had it checked.

Bread is also a love of mine..., especially Publix's White Mountain bread! I've essentially converted to whole and multi grain breads which doesn't affect blood sugar like regular bread. Fiber is the key too since it offsets the carbs or whatever. I still learning about all of this. So correct me if I'm wrong.

From what type of doctor/clinic are you getting this treatment?

A Baylor GP. Haven't been to a specialist yet. Three years ago I was falling asleep sitting up at 1pm after drinking a pot of coffee. I knew something was wrong so I went to my GP and demanded a test even though he was like meh. It came back 313 so I asked for treatment and he denied it. Sooo once again I was out looking for a new doc and TXARGUY gave me a lead for Dr Proctor. Great doctor but the staff is horrendous so I had no choice but to move on. I went to Baylor and found providers there. None of them ever spend more than five minutes with me and talk like auctioneers spitting out info and instructions. Since Ophucko Care my providers have taken a serious dive down the toilet. I get nearly all of my health info from the internet well uhmm just like this!

    What would you do?

Hopefully, Winchster can give you a lead, I think he's in your neck of the woods.

I go to a health and wellness doc. She does bioidentical hormone replacement therapies. She stays away from mainstream "big pharma" meds.

She refuses to take insurance since they dictate what she can and can't do. By no means is it cheap, but I haven't seen my GP in over 4 years now.

Another little side note. I refuse to take Statin drugs, but some of you may be on them.

Do some digging, I'm hearing they lower T amongst all the other bad things they do to your body.

I get mine at a GP as well.

Mine was below 200 & I had no idea.
Don't know why my Dr, had it tested originally, maybe because I have been having so much trouble with my other numbers.

Please tell me you're loading up on CoQ10.

There's so much evidence saying that Statin drugs are more harmful than helpful.
