I'm in the process of replacing halogen lights with LEDs on my ranch truck. For you guys who are on the fence about this, you've gotta try it. The light output per dollar is just amazing. Once I get a chance, I will pull out the DSLR and take some accurate photos.

This time, I'm replacing two 55W halogen work lights with 18W LEDs that outshine them by 200%. Here's a question for those of you with welding experience: What are my options for removing the welds from the old bracket? At the house I do not have a grinder, but I have a fully stocked dremel kit and this Bernzomatic cutting torch: Shop BernzOmatic Torch Kit at Lowes.com

The 2 LED bars I'm buying were $20 each from Amazon: Amazon.com: Signstek 18W CREE LED Flood Light Headlight Work Light Lamp off Road High Power ATV Jeep 4x4 Tractor off Road Light Fog Driving Bar Rree Truck SUV Car IP67 Waterproof Dustproof Shockproof: Automotive. My plan is to mount them in such a way that they can face backwards most of the time, but if we are crossing a pasture I can swivel them sideways.

Here is the 30" light bar that I bought for about $160. Having Amazon Prime is dangerous. It's so easy to sit here and say, "Hmmm, I could have that in two days just by clicking this button? OK!" The brown truck man and I are on a first-name basis.

I want to add one on my truck too. Just new to quit being lazy. My bumper has the perfect spot to conceal a 20" bar in it.

Saw that 30" bar in action last night. Some bastard had it running on the street leading to my neighborhood. GOOD GRIEF! That sucker will blind you! The boy needs to remember its designed for off-road. Not on a city street where you will be blinding people.

Yup had someone with 4 x Hellas on top of an FJ cruiser with high beams and fogs all HID coming head on. Just had to flip on my 42" led to make him turn off everything lol

lol Unfortunately my old Tahoe has nothing of the sort.

    forget the dremel tool.

go to harbor freight and buy a grinder for $15 and grind those bird droppings off of there, finish up with a 80 flap disk

I just put these Rigid 1800 lumen LEDs on my truck last week

I agree, that is a grinder job, not a Dremel job.

I love my LEDs. I have them everywhere. Mostly Rigid and Vision X.

Super clean install. Question: would those KC brackets have worked on your front bumper tubes, given the mesh is so close to the rear? I don't like my current brackets, but I can't do a flat mount like you did since I have only the brush guard and not a replacement bumper.

No as you cannot get access to the back side of the tube. I have since thrown those KC ins the trash.

just a thought, it is possible to mount those KC brakets in reverse and it pushes the mount forward a bit. It might give enough room depending on the profile of the light

Finally got over to Harbor Freight. Man, it's a good thing that place is far away from me. It's cool. Cheap, but lots of stuff to look at.

I was sure glad to use a grinder instead of my dremel. And that flap disk was excellent. I primered with black paint and will let it stay that way for now.
