    Talk about Hypocrites

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is seeking to purchase up to 7,000 “personal defense weapons” (PDW) -- the same rifles called "assault weapons" when owned by civilians, The Blaze reported Saturday.

The initial request was posted last June, but just recently came to light, Jason Howerton wrote.
According to Steve McGough ofRadioViceOnline.com, DHS said the "select-fire" weapons are “suitable for personal defense use in close quarters.” The weapons sought by the DHS would be capable of semi-automatic and automatic fire and would be equipped with high-capacity 30-round magazines, the same type some want to see banned for use by civilians.
New York state Sen. Greg Ball, a Republican, addressed the request in a press released earlier this week.
“Now the Department of Homeland Security even agrees that these modern sporting firearms, made illegal by Governor Cuomo, are suitable for self defense," he said.
On Thursday, Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) introduced a sweeping gun control bill that would limit magazine capacity to ten rounds and ban the same basic weapon sought by Homeland Security.
"Critics of such a ban on semi-automatic rifles are already arguing that the government is showing its hypocrisy by essentially saying they are good 'personal defense' for them, but not for American citizens. When civilians own semi-automatic rifles, they somehow become 'assault weapons,'” Howerton wrote.
McGough also noted the hypocrisy in the government's request.
"If it is appropriate for law enforcement, why is it not appropriate for civilian use?" he asked, noting that select fire/automatic weapons "are generally not used in situations where you need accuracy; like for home defense."
Howerton says that while it's reasonable for Homeland Security to be armed with the tools it needs to keep Americans safe, some, like Sen. Feinstein, apparently do not think average citizens should be allowed to protect their families with the same kind of "personal defense" weapons.

Talk about "double standards." If THEY own them, they're personal defense weapons but if WE own them, they're assault weapons. The c**ksuckers need to visit a proctologist to find their heads. It's either one or the other. But duplicity in government actions isn't unusual and this bullshit proves that fact.

To know and not to know, to be conscious of complete truthfulness while telling carefully constructed lies, to hold simultaneously two opinions which cancelled out, knowing them to be contradictory and believing in both of them, to use logic against logic, to repudiate morality while laying claim to it, to believe that democracy was impossible and that the Party was the guardian of democracy, to forget, whatever it was necessary to forget, then to draw it back into memory again at the moment when it was needed, and then promptly to forget it again, and above all, to apply the same process to the process itself – that was the ultimate subtlety; consciously to induce unconsciousness, and then, once again, to become unconscious of the act of hypnosis you had just performed. Even to understand the word 'doublethink' involved the use of doublethink.[SUP][2][/SUP]
The power of holding two contradictory beliefs in one's mind simultaneously, and accepting both of them... To tell deliberate lies while genuinely believing in them, to forget any fact that has become inconvenient, and then, when it becomes necessary again, to draw it back from oblivion for just as long as it is needed, to deny the existence of objective reality and all the while to take account of the reality which one denies – all this is indispensably necessary. Even in using the word doublethink it is necessary to exercise doublethink. For by using the word one admits that one is tampering with reality; by a fresh act of doublethink one erases this knowledge; and so on indefinitely, with the lie always one leap ahead of the truth.[SUP][2][/SUP]

I was preaching about our government deceit 30 years ago when they actually attempted to fake sincerity and accuracy in what they told us. Today, their line of crap is so far fetched and bizarre that only an ignorant fool would believe it.

Then it seems there are a lot of ignorant fools because they reelected Obastard. And they keep reelecting the same socialist/Marxists to the House and Senate. (Schumer, Slimestein, Boxer and the rest).

Why do they need weapons? I thought they were to help out after natural disasters? I'm gonna go make a tin foil hat now

One is not enough, also don't skimp out and use the cheap stuff. Get heavy duty name brand foil, double layer it.

Homeland Security is only a part of the government. I think anyone can clearly see the difference. Trust me, I understand everyone's frustration, andger and contempt. I share it.

But we must be cautious to be reasonable with our efforts.

My frustration isn't with the purchase if the weapons. It is the fact that their "personal defense weapons" are select fire but when we buy something that looks similar without select fire capabilities it becomes an "assault weapon".

    Tools of the trade..

Select fire shoulder fired weapons have been issued to qualifying Federal Agents long before I signed on in 1979.

I can assure you that clearing a house at 0330 hrs while serving a high risk felony warrant is when you appreciate a powerful "personal defense weapon" that can be handled well in close quarters. Personally, I prefer an 870 with the 14" barrel.

Since it is unlikely in the extreme that you are going to change this, perhaps you should get used to the idea.

You're missing the point... When the gun is in the government's hands its called a "personal defense weapon", but when its in civilian hands its called an "assault rifle." It's important to point out the difference in language because it's an attempt to vilify the average everyday gun owner.
