Much to my surprise there is no serial number or ANY other stamp marks in the metal
That looks to me like it might have been updated to take a more modern load at sometime in its history. Not saying it's is good to go now, but it appears to have had the barrels lined with better steel. If you are near Briley sometime, I would take it in and ask them to have a look. They might have some insight on what is going on there, as they are pretty good with old shotguns. It would probably be possible for them to work up some inserts and make it a shooter again.
Kinda looks to have inserts already. Not sure though.
That is what I mean, just not new ones. Briley would make some that would fit inside those already there to make it safe to shoot again.
The lack of a serial number is normal for a weapon of that vintage, and I have to wonder if you're not missing any proof marks in all that engraving or hidden under the fore end. By the fact that you thought it was a rifle at first, and were surprised by the lack of a serial number....uh, you need help. LOL...just ribbin' ya.
Oh, my - that's a beauty
That is stunning. Beautiful, just beautiful.
Is that briley AND brileygunsmithing .com the same? That looks to me like it might have been updated to take a more modern load at sometime in its history. The pictures don't do it justice. It's not *my type* of gun but I do appreciate the craftsmanship.

Unlike your pretending to be a comedian, I don't pretend to be a firearms expert.
