You are wrong. My interpretation is, if a firearm is not concealed the firearm is on display. Am I wrong?
You are wrong.
There are two types of carry with respect to handguns; concealed carry and open carry. Both require the handgun to be in a holster.
Yes Sir. I was wondering about how the proposed bill could affect open carry, since it says knowingly displaying a handgun in public is against the law.Concealed carry does not require the handgun to be in a holster.
Well, this ain’t CA.
The Texas Penal Code for UCW (TPC 46) is horribly written and should be started from scratch.
Absolutely correct!!Concealed carry does not require the handgun to be in a holster.
What bothers you about the sight of a firearm? Do you have other concerns?I have to admit that I have some distaste for open carry by civilians and even police in civilian clothes. I live in the Houston area and open carry with a license is rarely encountered. If you like a lot of unwanted attention, then - by all means - carry openly. I believe an LTC should be required for carry in public. Most restaurants here do not allow open carry with an LTC but have no objection to concealed carry. That will not change if unlicensed carry is allowed and - in fact - is more likely to lead to more places forbidding all carry with or without a license. Most police officers like LTC by civilians but would be opposed to unlicensed carry by people who are not certified; I have to agree with them.

Why indeed. Last I checked, the 2nd amendment shall not be infringed. From what I have observed, more civilians are better shooters and safer than police. I don't need a law telling me what I can and cannot own or carry. I already have one in a constitution that gives me the rights I require. I'm curious to his response. Why?

I have open carried in downtown Houston walking around and into a restaurant right at the corner of Westheimer and Montrose, in the heart of the “Hillary” zone, as my husband called it. Got only positive attention that I was fine with. Maybe it was my “don’t give a shit” attitude that won them over.I have to admit that I have some distaste for open carry by civilians and even police in civilian clothes. This ^^^^^Open carry is a "good guy" flag. Thugs do not open carry.
