Well I finally pinned the guy down so I could get my steel drilled. Now the real work begins. We have to move my boat to the ramps bolt up 200ft of steel, unbolt the floats, slide them out, and slide the new floats in as the olds going out. This is going to be fun. Only bad thing is it needs to be done on weekdays so the waters calmer, and I'm not fighting morons wakes who don't understand what "NO WAKE" means. So who wants to have a day or two of "fun" at the lake? Can't lift, and clamp 20ft 4x4x1/4 angle alone lol. Payment will be all the fishing off the dock you want.(I'm po)

Got to thinking about building a fresh water boat from scratch. Plywood or planks.

Have to include an outboard motor well, flotation, and more.

Never thought about having to build an assembly jig first.

Aw shucks, guess I'll just keep fishing from my 20 year old Lowe 12 foot aluminum john boat.

Why do you have to do this work on the water?

I only ask because I had a pontoon boat and I had to rebuild/ repair the rails on my trailer. I just jacked the boat up and did the work from underneath. Is something like that possible on your project? Water is never fun to work over.

I guess I don't understand exactly what you are doing. I think I remember you had to replace the pontoons on yours?
