I love lever actions .... my son has the henry .22 and I have a Henry golden boy .22. I regret selling my Marlin 30-30 20-something years ago.. I want another but have reservations about today's marlins... Does anyone own a Henry lever action in 30-30? Im considering Henry over marlin... what ya think?

I recently was bit the bug as well. It started when I got a ruger single action revolver buckeye 38/40 10mm. I was so impressed with how easy it was to be soooo accurate with the revolver. I guess I had forgotten as I had been so focused on the semi auto. then with this gun ban ( I went through the Clinton ban) I said the heck with it. I went back to revolvers and lever actions. I now have a rossi m92 357, 2 marlin 22lr, one savage 308 99e and of course my pump shotgun. I have recently figured that the ruger security six 357 4 and 6 inch are my new go to guns and ruger redhwak 45 lc. I just like the square butt guns better. I guess I am old school at heart. I just enjoy the ease of these weapons and their inherent accuracy. they are light weight easy to carry and maintain. whats not to like.

these are good places for info on lever guns.

This you can find pre rem-lins for about 300-325.00 always look for the jm trade stamp.

The model and caliber will affect final price. All the Per Rem-Lins I could find in shop at the shows or online for the 45-70 were coming up at about 590-650+. The main thing is to get what you want and not settle on a substitute. I paid a little more than I really preferred but when I figure on the ammo I still feel that I got great deal on this setup.

You can't consider yourself a rifleman until you've owned and shot a lever-action :p Very few rifles feel as good in the hand...

I sold 2 lever guns this last week. They were the best looking I have seen. Old, but total safe queens with very low round count. Perfect wood, just gorgeous.

Wish I had the cash to buy them myself.

The .45 and the .357? I was eyeing them. If only....

I did. They only had one. It was a Remington Marlin.
I have seen too many bad reviews on the "Remlin" 1895's that I dont want to push my luck.

I too have heard the horror stories, but my SBL is just awesome! I am pretty sure they have the bugs worked out.
