Found an old rifle stock, might try to rebuild it

I found this old rifle stock in my closet from years ago and I was looking an thought it might turn into a cool rifle. Problem there's no markings on it or distinguishable features so I haven't the slightest clue what gun its for. If anyone could help me out or point me in the right direction it would be much appreciated.

Sorta looks like a Stevens 887 stock that's been severely sanded down.
