I put the word out that I was looking because I had a few projects [all of the new metal frame pistols] that I wanted coated. Was referred to Back Forty Guns and Gear in Commerce, Texas. Johnny is the owner [currently a LEO for Cumby, Tx.] Got back the first project Monday afternoon, a Sig P938 I had coated in Dark Burnt Bronze [slide and controls]. He and his FIL do all the work themselves. I prefer that versus stores that send out the work to others. Highly recommend Johnny's work!

The Sig turned out even better than I thought it might. Next up is the Tanfoglio Series 88 Target, then the Canik C-100. Here's how the Sig looks now...

Very well done indeed! I am curious to the cost of that! The 938 is by far my favorite CC. The size/caliber and dependability is bar to none that I have found. I have a 2 tone / stainless p229 that I wouldn't mind getting that done on.

$100 for the slide and all the controls. He also polished the extractor part that shows and the transfer bar behind the trigger. He also is doing the other two pistols I have so I will have a more detailed job price for you when those are finished. He is very reasonable and can also do checkering on metal. He is doing that on the Tanfoglio Series 88 as well as cerakoting the entire pistol and the frame/controls on my Canik C-100. I will add those pics and prices when they are all done.

Yessir, definitely my absolute favorite CC as well. I have carried several including the Kimber Micro 9 and the 938 rules them all. I love what he did for my $100 bill. I think all three projects will come in at a reasonable cost considering the work he does.

That's just a hop and skip down the road from me, as well. I've been wondering about cerakoting... might be worth a short trip on the bike to check it out.

    Naples TX.
Cumby. That town is the last city run speed trap on I 30, between Rockwall and Mt. Pleasant. I run the speed limit so it's not a problem for me but all the Truckers shower down just before the city limit sign and generally cause a traffic wad that does not unwind for several miles. 95% of the time they are writing some dufus in a corvette a ticket so the rubber neckers slow it even more.

The TZ-75 in my profile pic got picked up from Johnny at Back Forty yesterday late afternoon. He also polished the internals and made the trigger pull a bit better while he was in there. He also machined the front and back strap as well as the trigger guard giving me 25 dpi pyramids to eliminate the slippery grip situation these pistols are known for. As you can see the horn of the guard has also been removed. This makes it easier to holster in leather OWBs. Another fine job. I dropped off the C-100 to him as well.
