I really didn't state my opinion on BOS because that will make this post go on for 10 pages or so. To be a devils advocate though for some buyers they will only make a deal if a BOS is used. When we go through a private purchase the individuals involved are free to set their own rules in Texas, thankfully so. In other states it can be a nightmare.@rotor
Yeah. So I just want a discussion on it..
That's what we start threads for to share our thoughts and experiences
It is my opinion that requiring a BOS and ID is overkill and discorouages some buyers.
So I started this thread to discuss
You stated your opinion and that's right...his gun his rules..I still think it's stupid though..
That's likely the most succinct justification I've seen yet. Kudos & tks.Only a rocket scientist would give some one money to take your personal information.

BOS is all about protection is the justification.
What assurances does the buyer have that the seller can legally sell the gun?
License to Litter?
What is a LTL how much does it cost and where do we get it?
That's a good ideaWhen a seller asks me to sign a BOS, I generally ask for proof of purchase.
They could be selling a gun used in a crime!
So far, no one has offered it up ...
