    But, Who needs this ?

That's the beauty of the free market!

If they have a following, then it'll sell and they'll make improvements and new models and maybe win new followers.

If it doesn't, then they write it off as a loss on their Corp filings.

Either way - more competition and more choices in the market is good for the consumer.

Understood; but, the market for 9mm semi-auto’s is already flooded.

Even after buying a P365, we still carry G19’s.

And those 2 have a gigantic part of the U S market ‘’sewn-up’’.

    I’d love to see a U S made modern ejector 20GA or 28GA doublegun. (Not a 12GA downsized)

Guess I’m just too damned old !

You old person you. Get with the times. All though I do like your thought about the 20&28GA.

Who needs 20 models of Glock that all look the same? Who needs 500 channels of satellite TV? Who needs more color options for their car than classic black? Who needs to be able to access the greatest storehouse of man's knowledge, crackpot conspiracy theories, porn and cat pictures ever to exist on a device in the palm of their hand while they take a crap? Who needs to be able to choose something different if they'd like?

Frankly, I hope DD has ironed out the flaws in the original Hudson design and I wish them luck. I won't be affording one, but it's hardly the first unusual and maybe overpriced design that's come out recently, and it won't be the last.

I'm glad you are happy with the Glocks. I've tried them and while I can use them, they don't feel comfortable to me. Same with the Sig offerings.

And if they have the market sewn up, then that's all the more reason to add some competition to the mix. Without competition there's no innovation. Plus I like having choices.

Daniel Defense launches it's first new handgun....and it's an old design.

I think they lost me at : Striker fired. I consider striker to be acceptable downgrade for carry use.

... and the dingus on the trigger- swap that for proper grip safety of 1911.

Dang, I didn’t realize someone made it before! Doesn’t look like they made much effort to make it different at all

What do you like to use? I’ve heard Canik is raising quickly in popularity!

My EDC is a Walther PPQ M2. I also have the PDP - the trigger isn't as good imo, but the slide is better. When it's not one of those, it's a 1911 - most often my Dan Wesson CBOB. I have a buddy back in Virginia that likes them so much that he sold of his other semi's and replaced them with Canik's. I haven't tried that one myself (yet).

This DD pistol doesn't really appeal to me, but given the opportunity I'll give it a try.

My long winded reasoning (skip if you want): I've been an NRA Instructor & TC for a while and used my classes as an excuse to purchase a variety of pistols and rifles. Over the years, I've had numerous semi's that have all gone to better homes: gen 2+ Glocks (19, 17, 22's..), H&K USP's, Sig 229, 320, 365, S&W M&Ps, Caracal C-QS (loved the site on that, but they were all recalled), Beretta 92fs, Ruger P85, Walther PPS and PP... and a few others. Since we were teaching basic classes, we'd coordinate with the other instructors to make sure we had a wide selection of pistols and calibers so the new shooters would get a chance to find what worked for them vs what the saleperson told them, or what the internet told them they "had" to have.

I've worked with folks that can shoot the hell out of the Glock/H&K/Sig/whatever... cool, good for them. The ones I've tried just don't work for me, which is why I like having choices. Yeah, my mags cost more than the G19 mags and the PPQ M2 doesn't have as many mods, but that's fine with me - YMMV.

Unless you are buying a collectors piece, the advice I give is this: borrow a buddies or rent and try before you buy. Take home what works for you - not what's new, shiny or cool, not what works for your friends, or your significant other - but you. Practice and be happy.

Yes, when I look for an ‘’Old Man’s Shotgun’’; I want 20GA on 20Ga frame, bbls <26 ‘’, selective EJECTORS, less than 6
    # loaded; I am suddenly in the realm of $5K plus!
