I know you meant that tongue and cheek but it has actually improved my shoulder and hips tremendously. When I started lifting , my shoulders were jacked up and lose. They made popping sounds when I was starting out with no pain, but they were just loose. The weights have strengthened my shoulders greatly. If you think about it, we are all just a sack of bones wrapped up in flesh with tendons and other tissue connecting the bones (your frame) to the flesh. The more out of shape and flabby your body is, the frame work gets out of whack. Back and joint problems.
