Chasing a unicorn

I've been chasing a unicorn: wood stock, left handed model 700 in .308. Since these mythical beasts are unavailable, can someone give me some opinions on such substitutes as Tikka or Savage, or other names I don't know? Something less than $1k.

Savage > than both.

I shoot long guns left handed and have found that I prefer right handed bolt actions.
My cheek weld and trigger hand never have to move until the magazine is empty.
I'm not sure I could run a lefty bolt anymore.

Yup. Savage HB. And bed it. With good glass. Don't skimp more than you have to. We all have a budget.
When you are ready, put it in a good chassis.
