True, they cover attorney fees for Civil cases, but very few cover civil "Liability Verdicts" unless choosing the most expensive plan or adding to basic coverage.Read the fine print. Some companies have provisions for Civil Suits/Actions over and above the "Criminal" Court actions.
I think the point of having an attorney is to ensure that the legal formalities are not being misused to misguide the grand/petite jury by the prosecutor should they press charge on you on the basis of, say, political agenda.if you are justified in the use of deadly force the grand jury clears you and there's no need for a lawyer
