Butter. But I agree with Vaq that good quality olive oil is an acceptable alternative in some cases.

For popcorn and/or corn-on-the-cob, if you offer me margarine, we're done.

Easiest way to put butter on corn on the cob is to spread it thick on bread and wrap around the cob.

Kerrygold Irish butter. I got hooked on it and won't go back. Salted if I buy it, Unsalted if the wife buys it.

It comes at a price but it is well worth it. It has good flavor and color. I keep it on the counter at room temp so it spreads like a boss.
