Anybody good in the Ellis county, south Dallas area? My shower needs to be rebuilt and the floor is trashed. Any references would be helpful.

Choosing the right kind of flooring for your bathroom has to strike the perfect balance between what looks good to you and what works on a practical level. If you are thinking about a bathroom remodeling you should look at all the options available to you before you make a flooring decision. Wood, unlike tiles, is warm to the touch and can be a more comfortable flooring choice underfoot. Polished Stone and Concrete have a neat and even appearance and work well with any decor, provided that they are well looked after and do not get too wet too often.

I thought wood is not good for damp/humid areas due to its stability.

It would be better than the carpet that's in there now.

It's pier and beam house and the floor there is particle board.

Redo floor with plywood, hardybacker, then tile. Much better solution.

I would go with Tiles If you must have the warm cozy feeling on your feet you can get a floor heater that goes underneath.

I just had my entire house remodeled. I will never do that to a house again while trying to live in it at the same time.

Matt Norton of Shadywood Custom Homes out of Melissa did mine but I don't know if he works that far south. I can ask him and if he says he does I'll PM you his contact info.

His team did a great job on my house (including complete rebuilds of two bathrooms) and I would recommend him to anyone looking for remodel work done.

Thanks! But yeah, I'm probably too far south.

I did that treatment to my own, and it holds up really well. You can always throw a rug down in the winter months.
