Recently I have begun asking my clients how long its taking them. Lately I have begun seeing a trend of 10-12 weeks from mailing the application until receipt of the Form 1 or Form 4.

I had Andrew Ashton as my examiner:

Note: My buddy and I went through the same dealer the same day and He does not have my examiner. I read at one point it had to do with your Class 3 dealers last name. Well this is obviously no longer this case as we used the same guy and had different examiners.

I wouldnt get too pissed off.. its the batf .. I didn't get a form 4 back in 2005 for 8 months.

Then the item sat at the SOT's place for 6 months. He claims he called me and left a message. (Never Happened) I called him and left him a message every two months. I was never told I could call the Batf at that point to check dates.

1 year and 2 month wait for my first suppressor. It was my first NFA and I didn't really know any better.. People just always said back then be patient .. be patient..

Times are coming down in many areas of the country, but some examiners are still backed up for additional months. Hopefully your experience will become more standard.

Just thought I would post for comparison. I have not called to check on mine. They are at least running 60 days. I will call after January if it has not been received back and post an update.
