Dear Jon,
I know all about Texas gun laws, their history, and their evolution.
Remember I am a retired University of Texas Professor.
Texas laws are a long tortured history of the unintended consequences of do-good'ers in office and of the universal law of unintended consequences.
Even though I retired to next door Louisiana, which financed and supplied the then new 1936-37 Republic of Texas, and which never had any anti-OC laws, I rarely OC, as stated in prior posts on this thread.
Besides weren't we discussing the advisability of the two styles, not the laws?

leVieux,
As a "former denizen" of the 40 Acres, I have more than a little trouble believing that ANY pro-2nd Amendment scholar was hired, much less retired, at UT-Austin since I was an entering Freshman in 1965-66.
(Even in the early 1970s, when I was briefly a doctoral candidate, I was often "snarled at" by professors when wearing my Class A Army uniform.)
yours, satx
