North of Conroe? That's a bit too far for what I'm doing. I was thinking more like what Spicewood Springs or Lime Creek is to Austin. It's not too near Katy, but the main drag through the National Forest is great.
Rode it every weekend, more than once....
That's awesome. It doesn't have to be a spot where you can go all out. Maybe just some nice scenery and a little spirited driving. How is FM1458? It looks ok from the map."Isle of Cam"
Awesome! ThanksThat's a nice drive. I'm not sure if you're looking for something specific but we do a lot of back road cruising and 1458 from 10 to 1093 is nice.
I like 359 through 1093 as well.
102 from East of Columbus down to 90 Alternate at Eagle Lake has some elevation change
Normally I look for roads that follow creeks or rivers, but everything seems very flat and needlessly straight.
Are there any good driving roads near Katy, or spots that would be a cool backdrop for car pictures? Would really prefer it to be around Katy... not interested in actually going into Houston.
You come down from the hill country to what used to be rice farms for miles and miles and are surprised? What type topography do you think best suits rice farms?Normally I look for roads that follow creeks or rivers, but everything seems very flat and needlessly straight.
I'd love to know your "track". Text, PM or here.Driving roads are hard to find around here.
I had an "Isle of Cam" route, it was about 100 miles.
I didn't name it that.
I'd love to know your "track". Text, PM or here.
Back in a bit, going for a quick ride.
