    That Luscombe is a fine airplane. I was able to fly one after I put it together for the owner. He just wanted it assembled.

    I flew this ugly thing from Columbus, Ga to Thermal California back in the 1980's. Even flying, I didn't think I would ever pass through the state of Texas!! Followed Hwy 80 from Columbus to Meridian Mississippi, then I-20 from there to Las Cruces NM, then I-10 to Mesa Verde, Ca. Took me 20 hours and three days.
