Sheriff Bobby Guidroz said Opelousas Police Chief Graig “Twin” LeBlanc and his wife, Captain Crystal Leblanc with the St. Landry Parish Sheriff Office were shot on Oak Leaf Boulevard at the home of an officer with the Opelousas Police Department.

He added the chief's wife, Crystal Leblanc, rang the doorbell at the residence and the chief went outside. Chief Leblanc and his wife began arguing. Guidroz said the homeowner, a female, then came outside with a gun.

Recently, the Black Majority has had their candidates elected to major offices. Some of these worked out well, but others are awful.

The way it read, the Husband Chief Cop and the Wife Captain Cop went to visit Lady Cop #3 @ home, got into an argument on the front lawn. & Cop-ette #3 shot them ?

Chief was visiting Copette #3, his Officer, at her home.

Wife, who is a Captain in the Parish’s S.O., showed up as he was leaving, and a spousal argument ensued.

Copette #3 grabbed a gun & went to investigate. Chief saw gun-in-hand, grabbed for it, had an “AD”. Bullet went through Chief’s hand, struck Deputy Wife in shoulder.

The City of Opelousas has experienced several other shootings in recent days.

Those who know aren’t talking now, so one must wait for headlines or just figure it out.

Our Son knows, but the Chief Guy is his Friend, so he is giving only basic info, not details.

Our Black politicians and public officials seem, in many cases, to have less discretion than the White folks they have replaced; but, overall it is the same Human foibles.

Opelousas, in particular, has had a “Wild West” reputation for centuries. Before the War. of Yankee Aggression; it was the administrative center for some 1/4 of the State.

Right after the Texians won the Battle of San Jacinto, Sam Houston & Mirabeau Lamar were said to have split for New Orleans to arrange the financing of their new “Texas”, but they had to stop in Opelousas for a few drinks & rest on their way.

They used Lopez de Santa Ana’s solid silver pot-au-chambre for collateral. It showed-up over a century later, while being used as a champagne punch bowl at a New Orleans society wedding reception. One just can’t make these things up. . . . . .
