So I liked what Dreyes89 did to his G22 barrel. Here's his thread:

    http://www.texasguntalk.com/forums/handguns/56944-g22-polished-barrel-night-sights.html

I went ahead and did the same to my Gen4 G19. I soaked the barrel in distilled white vinegar for ~2 hours, followed by about 2.5 hours of gratuitous polishing with Mothers Mag & Aluminum polish while I watched a movie. It cost about $6 for the vinegar and polish. The difference between his barrel and mine is that he wanted to keep some of the finish and I went ahead and took it completely off, bringing out the full shine of the barrel. I convinced my older brother (username Azkcr) to do the same to his RIA 1911 and it looks great. Tell me what y'all think.

    Brother's 1911 pre-polish and my G19 with polished barrel:

Before you say anything, it is unloaded.

    Your brother has it right

I'll get a 1911 in due time. It's the next gun on my list.

Kinda small for a buttplug PAK. You fucking pervert

9mm works just fine, thank you.

    I like the contrast

Me too. I wasn't sure if I would like a silver barrel in an all black gun but I'm eventually going to cerakote the frame with either a desert tan or earth tan to break the monotony. We shall see.

My Galaxy S4 has a damn good camera. I would like to buy an actual camera eventually for sexy gun-porn pictures though.

The Glock looks, well, different. Not my cup of tea but sounds like you like it. Workmanship looks great anyways.

My big question is will it rust now? I know the Tennifer finish is clear and imbedded into the metal so I would guess not but I am just curious.

I'm religious about oil. So mine will not rust.
Actually, after removing it from the vinegar some rust appeared. Now, was it already there because it's a +4yr old gun that was slightly neglected before I got it? Maybe.

I have never had a Glock rust except for aftermarket sights. Even my carry gun that gets sweat on it is still rust free except for the sights.

Even the bare spots from use never even get a spot on them. Tennifer is good stuff.

    Ya. Glocks are great.
But I'm referring to my 1911. He stripped his glock barrel and I stripped my 1911 barrel. Mine had a smidge of rust. But she's had some rounds through it

Thanks. I wasn't sure if I would like it either but it definitely makes a statement. Dreyes89 and some others guys assured me it wouldn't rust so I'm taking it on faith. So far, so good.

Yours only rusted where the barrel made contact with the inside of the slide. You don't use it for EDC anyway so I wouldn't worry about it. It makes that 1911 look young again though, no doubt.

I think you have a nice camera!

Beware stripping Glocks can sometimes reveal very unevenly shaded, un-shiny metal underneath, and it's impossible to tell how they'll come out until you're done. Glad yours came out well.
