Talk to your sheriff. Our sheriff here in Fannin county is the one who got it passedThanks, I'm in Bee co. and trying to get it passed here.
It may be ineffectual in real terms, but I would argue it isn't meaningless. If enough do it it *could* make some lawmakers think twice before infringing even more on our God given rights protected by the 2a.it is meaningless.
It’s not meaningless. Just means that that if you live in that county that county judge or sheriff might not come for your guns.
Is the cat dead until you open the box?So it is meaningless until there is a confiscation?
I don’t know. I don’t hope I find out either. So it is meaningless until there is a confiscation?
I don’t know. I don’t hope I find out either.
Seems to me it is meaningful as long as the authorities in your county do not come to confiscate your guns and it becomes meaningless if they do come to confiscate them. It would be even more meaningful if said county authorities came to protect you and your guns if state or federal authorities tried to confiscate them. As you said in your second post, I agree, I'd like to know what protection we receive from these affirmations. In NYS, many sheriff's offices in the western part of the state said they would refuse to enforce many of the provisions of the NY S.A.F.E. Act.So it is meaningless until there is a confiscation?
But....So reading a little deeper, it is just basic pandering, with counties claiming to support 2A, or be 2A safe havens, or other such verbiage.
Meanwhile every single law is still enforced in these counties.
Keep in mind, every gun grabbing Democrat claims to support the 2A.
