Well, the Second Amendment does say "weapons", not specifically guns. There was a fellow, "Mark", in Baton Rouge, who decided to LEGALLY O.C. a revolver, no matter what the locals told him. Mark finally got himself roughed-up by the Gonzales, LA P-D, in a famous case of unnecessary police brutality, went to the Ascension Parish Jail; but finally prevailed. Mark got his Att'y fees and a nice big new Harley out of his troubles. Still, most of the groups consider him a pariah and trouble-stirrer. Our efforts should be to force the localities to educate officers in the Constitution(s) and Law; not to cause problems for officers doing their work in public safety. There was another famous web case of similar in Texas a few weeks ago. Puleeze; let's not antagonize our officers; OFFICER EDUCATION should be the goal. And, don't do anything you already KNOW is illegal ! That just gives opponents more ammo to use on US !

What Matefrio did was lawful. He was brave and actually put his money where his mouth is, he didnt just talk shit on a forum.

    Exactly.

He also was not "antagonizing" anyone. He walked around peacefully and lawfully. By your statement I am antagonizing law enforcement by walking around with my concealed carry gun.

not to cause problems for officers doing their work in public safety.

Their "work" is to knowingly both break the law themselves and do harm to citizens?

I seem to have a different view of 'work,' as well as the oath I swore to support and defend the Constitution. Very odd.

"Those who would give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety..."

"May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen.”

Thanks folks for the kind words and support.

May 14th is the next court docket date as the slow wheels of justice turn. They'll give me a plea deal, my lawyer will communicate that deal to me as he should, and I'll decline.

I can't say I don't have a chuckle with the pickle the Travis DA has got herself in. I don't wish that on anyone though.

You will share the plea offer with us I hope. I'm curious as to how much of an offer they give you.

A picture is worth a 1000 words. The outcome was a good one. This isn't over as now I get a chance to take the fight to them.

For those who can't see it:
To the honorable judge of said court:
NOW COMES the State of Texas by and though her Attorney, respectfully requests the Court to dismiss the above entitled and numbered criminal action in which the defendant is charged with the offence of Unlawfully Carrying A Weapon for the reason: In The Interest of Justice.

I'm not real up to snuff on all the different legal proceedings. Where exactly do you go from here in order to take the fight to them?

Dude, that's freakin' awesome - congrats!!!!

Yeah - DEMAND that license back. Shit - I'd probably insist that the arresting officer return it to me personally.....
