I put a wilson combat spring kit in the sr1911 and the pull is down to 1.5 lbs. 50 rounds at 12 yards

    Loving my 1911 midlife crisis

    Gunz are icky.
Today was a real peach of a range trip
Took some 38spl reloads. There is some weird stuff going on with this batch.
Most of them fire normally. Then i get a squib. Primer pops but the powder charge doesn’t. Same cases, primers, powder, bullet.
Got a bullet stuck in the barrel. No biggie. Brass rod and a small hammer tapped it right out.
I can’t figure out why on the squibs. Just have to shoot’em up and reload them anew.
Also tried a new set of Altamont grips. Darn things were too thick on the front of the left grip to allow extraction. Spent a little while grinding down the top edge of the left grip.
It’s working now. I’ll try it with live fire before doing the final polishing.

Went to the range midday and took all my 9mms to give them a go. It's been too long for some of them since their last workout.

Was a nice spring day... had range to myself. Shot the pistols at 10yds and the Draco Nak9 and Keltec sub2000 at 25yds

Had a blast and not one failure... shot mostly bulk 115gr fmj but a few rounds of SD ammo in a couple of them

    Ruger Security 9
    Kimber Micro 9
    Diamondback DB9
    Bul Armory 1911
    Springfield Armory EDC9
    IWI Masada

    KelTec SUB2000
    Draco NAK9

    Observations-

-The full size 1911 was the most enjoyable to shoot, best trigger and handled recoil the best

    - The Leupold DP Pro red dot on the Masada makes this an easy gun to shoot

    - The CT laser grip on the Kimber Micro 9 nightfall works great... just point and shoot... no aiming required... I have it dialed in

    Sighted in the newbie yesterday.

I used more rounds than I thought I needed getting it sighted in.

I only had enough for a 50 yd and a 100 yr group afterwards. The flyer in the 100 was a jerk .

I think once I get used to the frog I can tighten those up.

I was using junky FNM milsurp.

I zeroed at 25 yrds, should be close at 225.

Went to sight in my Sauer 100 in 308 but the Sun was so brutal that we stayed in the shade and shot the Sig STX and the bisley Blackhawk. Both preformed well. The Sig fed the 200 grn semi wad cutters like it was ment to. It feeds all that I have given it, hollowpoints of all types fmj and now semi wad cutters. Sig makes a great 1911. The Ruger bisley, well it just shoots exceptionally well. My new woods carry .

    Subsonic Supressor Sunday

Shot alot thru the new 9mm can today on the Scorpion and the G19 and also a bunch thru the Ruger Mark

Absolutely fun and the Glock was more accurate for me with the can on than it ever was before I'm guessing the added muzzle weight made follow up shots easier

What’s the can for the Mark 4? And too, looks like a bada&$ range. Where’s it located? Looks like a mile of fun.

Nice! If you don’t mind, what did the container and awning cost?
Man I apologize I was going through this thread and I missed your question
I looked and I don't see where I answered it
I wanted a nice container so I paid a little more for a "one trip" unit. At the time I bought it was a little over 2 years ago it was about $4500 as I recall

I built up a frame inside with 2 inch purlin welded to the inside and ran some super basic electric for my solar power system

    Did that myself

Then I paid $1000 for spray foam
Then I bought some exterior siding for the paneling

Went cheap for trim with pine and I burned it with a propane torch to make it look better

The ceiling was old R panel I paid $20 a sheet for

All together with the roll up door I'm probably $6500 with me doing the labor

The awning was 2 oilfield pipes I got for $20 each and some 6 inch purlin I welded up and the same R panel I got for the ceiling

So about another $300 in materials

Next phase is a ladder and a covered deck on top

The side facing the only access road will be lined with railroad ties 3 high with slots ..
You can guess what that would be used for..wink wink..should I come under attack..
