I loaded up a few hundred home cast, powder coated 147gr 9mm to take to the range sometime this coming week. Need to swap the Dillon over to large primer to load up some home cast, powder coated 200gr SWC for the range as well.

I think it was gen 2 and gen 3 40cal pistols that did that.
Deavis, are you sizing them forwards or backwards? I heard you should size them backwards (base first) to push the metal back forward.

We push through size them on a casemaster first. It pushes them through base first, same as the Camdex processor, which they see next. Feeding them the other way would be a pain at speed on conventional equipment.

Getting rid of the bulge is easy, it's the strain on the brass that I dislike. No way to control the next chamber it sees and which direction the casing will enter. It is a big reason I wont load fired brass in 10mm anymore

For true straight-wall cases, there are "push-through" dies and tools from various sources. The link was for Lee products. Here's the Redding stuff in use:

Note that both the Lee and the Redding are designed to have the mouth of the case fed into the die. You specifically asked about sizing backwards. I assume by that you mean shoving the base of the case into the die first. For push-through sizing, that always seemed to me like a more logical way to do things. The only tools I know of designed to do that (I'm sure other tools can be adapted to work like this, but I have no experience doing that.) are by Magma. They have a manual version for less than $400.

They also have a fully-automated push-through sizer for somewhere on the far side of $6K but I don't play where the air is that thin.

The Lee system uses the factory crimp die as a sizer and will work on these calibers if you have the factory crimp die for that caliber.

Finished off a batch of 850 9mm cast and P.C. loads. Boxed them up and marked them. That'll last a couple more range sessions. Next project is to test loads for a 243 and work up loads for the bolt action 223.

Sized, neck turned, primed and loaded 130 6ppc Lapua brass so I can fire form them when the rain stops. Neck turned about 30 others for future use.
