The dipping sauce was crap, IMHO.
I think that stuff has a split personality. If you actually dip the chicken in it, it's terrible. I hate it. But if you barely let the chicken touch it, using it as sparingly as possible, it adds a little extra flavor that I like.

Canes was a 1 time stop and I had to toss out most if it.

I had to try 2 pcs to make sure it was just not a bad 1. It made it clear when my dog turned his nose up at it.

Canes is better. *runs for his life before this gets ugly*

Although I occasionally eat fast food, it is still fast food. If you are expecting gourmet fare, ain't gonna happen at a fast food joint.

With some exceptions. I really miss the Japanese/Mexican fusion food truck that used to stop at a work site where I spent some time. It was fast and it was really good. Unfortunately, it was also ridiculously expensive.

Reminds me of some old saying about fast, cheap, good and choosing two. :)

As far as Japanese food goes, I got spoiled in Japan. Every Japanese food place never seems to come close.

Wish my dog would turn her nose up. I went into CVS and left me Canes box on the console, and it was empty when I got back in the car. I can confirm pit bulls endorse Cane.

Lol guess I don’t know good chicken. The sauce is pretty good. I never had anything other than kfc where I used to live. KFC is gross.

As mentioned lol canes menu is basic. You get chicken strips. You can spice it up and get a sandwich aka chicken strips thrown on buns. Their sauce really is great though.
I hope someone has a good answer for you. I'd like to read it.

The only store bought equivalent of how Mama made it I ever tried was called Mrs. Allen’s at Sweet Water. The Kitchen was full of sweet old widder ladies running around with cast iron skillets and cans of Crisco. Dining community style on picnic tables. The plumber takes a piece of chicken and passes the platter to the preacher. She passed but the local yokels say her kids are trying to keep it sorta similar. Called Allen Family Fine Foods. I think.

My best friend for 17 years was a 150 lb long legged American Rotty. He would eat anything except Pittsburgh hotlinks. What kinda grits do they smoke in East TX to love those things so good? They sure ain’t picky about food. Greasy gut bombs

Golden Chick is good, in the Waco area Bush's Chicken is good. In S Dallas, Williams Chicken is good.

    Not sure about H town.

Never heard of any of them, and that's probably a good sign.
    I'll keep an eye out.
    Thanks ...

Since we have completely left the topic, if any of you want good fried chicken. Allen's in Sweetwater ...end of story
Not quite the end. Babe’s is scattered throughout the DFW area, and they make fried chicken like momma used to. There’s also a place in Abilene called Belle’s which is a direct copy, but still delicious.
