Yeah... I gotta get down that way and wet a hook in the bay with him!
We'll get'r done! It's almost time. We usually start getting a few good days in Feburary & March... & even better in April & May. I've got a night time spot that is awesome for big trout that starts to turn on in April.
Never heard of Tomball Gun Club.
I see they don't allow "rapid fire" lol.
EZ is a cool cat. Need to go shooting with him again soon.
In some circles, the place is a history-soaked legend. Some amazing things have happened there.Never heard of Tomball Gun Club.
EZ, does the range you were telling me about allow quick shots with rifles?
I was following an AUG thread and saw an IDPA type shoot with an AUG and that really appealed to me.
I think Shiloh has IDPA. There is something around conroe and another one down south.
It just seems so boring shooting steel at a slow pace, even at 200 yds.
A guy I shoot with used to shoot at Phil’s place but his wife’s health took a turn so he dropped his membership.
If I can get a really good job I’ll try and get approved for that place!
My take on it (the picture host is screwed up but you can still read the text) is here.
Both. What makes them so special for bench rest? Is it the facilities, the people that shoot there or both?
Yes. It's a formal target shooting range meaning that rapid fire is never necessary or desirable. I note there's a tightly controlled exception for competition but that would have to be for some sort of competition I've never witnessed on that range. That puts their no rapid fire rule in better context.
Are you talking about the Tomball Gun Club? If you are, I notice that they still have a pistol match scheduled every month but I can't find any details. I saw one forum post that said it was some sort of unsanctioned match made up by the people who run it but even that had no details. We used to have an IDPA-style get together many years ago but it perished...
