You mean like a shoestring with 14" between loops at each end?I think part of the problem will be, since a new law would have to be written basically by lawyers, how exactly are they going to classify a bump fire device so that it doesn't become ridiculous and include items like rubber bands?
When the wording becomes specific enough to eliminate things like the slide fire, it leaves loopholes for other options for some of the creative types out there.
a simple rubber band gives you the same rate of fire as a bump stock, I assume they will be banning those too?

I'm not ready to give in yet.General Zod is correct. When an attachment is made illegal because thet think it makes the gun deadlier, it won't be long before they are screaming that ANY attachment should be illegal for the same reason.
