Good deal!Update, my pistol was found in Jackson, Mississippi when someone tried to sell it at a gun show. A guy tried to sell it and the buyer checked the serial number which showed up as stolen.
If by chance any of your guns are stolen, they will probably ask for serial numbers and possibly make it easier to track down when reported, so yes, I would think that's a good idea.So you're saying I should record my serial numbers?
Here's the real crappy part of it. You'd think, especially with this Doofus POTUS, they'd make it easier on FFLs to check for stolen/illegal guns. Did you know there is no consolidated way for FFLs or pawn shops to check??? Now, some might not care, but if the government would provide a platform to report stolen guns and require the stores to check first or be liable (and, alternatively, help solve crimes), it might reduce the availability of stolen guns. At least, they'd have to sell them privately. And if they made the registry open to anyone, then even a private buyer could check to see if a gun was stolen. Of course, the scratched off serial number might be a clue....
Hell TXI, you don't ask questions like that - you answer them!....Aren't pawn shops required to submit serial numbers to the local PD?
Unfortunately stolen guns that are returned..............look like stolen guns....
Condition is usually poor......
Some people pay extra these days for that fancy "battle worn" look!
Wow.......... just got off the phone with a customer that needs a serial number for a Glock that was stolen from his vehicle at the Court House in Corpus.....
I make a copy of my warranty application, it shows proof that I registered it with the manufacturer and has my serial number.I have an application I developed for all my serial numbers. When new guns come in or old ones go out, it is annotated in the application. I also keep a written record. I thought everyone would atleast do that

Although receipts are good for many items at stores, most times guns they want you to contact the manufacturer for any problems.I do the same, and I keep any receipts as well.
