One of the local guys who has lived her forever said Lake limestone has a resident alligator, which give the lake an endangered species listing.A little too close for comfort.
Haven't been there in decades. Had no idea it gators had begun making a home there.
Well, no. Not like an invasive destructive species. Why is the Alligator still alive when it is a obvious threat to people?
Folks should be allowed to kill them - like Hogs.
When hunting them, a .22 lr or .22 mag are the most common calibers.I wonder if anyone has done studies on the effectiveness of common CCW calibers on gators....

I'm sure the American alligators are not unlike a Nile crocodile in having a golf ball size brain. Even if sunning themselves on land you go for the anchoring shot of the brain, as they are going into the water. When hunting them, a .22 lr or .22 mag are the most common calibers.
Brain shot is about the only way to kill larger crocodilians. Their bodies are designed to take a massive amount of damage before dying.
In other words, aim for the bump between the eyes, or if you are grabbed, put the bangy part on top of the bitey part and let er rip.
