It's simple, really. A property owner can bar people with six toes from entering, but what's inside people's shoes is none of their business. If the six-toed freak comes in wearing flipflops, it's the property owner's prerogative and responsibility to tell them to leave.

There will always be those that argue private property rights vs rights for self defense. If Texas eliminated 30.06/07 would the rights of property owners be decreased? They would still have the right to verbally ask you to leave if they knew you were carrying. Is it really necessary for a voting booth to not have a concealed carrier present? You get my point.
    Concealed is concealed...

I am fortunate in that I am required to carry at work and in a public place (including private property) I cannot be prohibited from carrying a weapon either on or off duty.

There is a difference between public property and a public place. They are not the same thing.

Public property (say a police station) is not a public place.

Public property like a city hall, generally is a public place.

Private property like a walmart is a public place, but not public property.

Private property like an office may be quasi-public.

By my view a public place, regardless of it being public or private property should have very limited ability to prohibit or regulate what they cannot see. I.e. a nice restaurant can set a dress code and require a collared shirt but should not be able to prohibit unseen tattoos, piercings, thoughts or weapons.

It is the owner's right to make the decision and it is your right to continue your employment there or not. There is nothing that exercising our rights won't have consequences. I don't do business with some companies because i don't agree with them on various issues. Same with some employers, I refuse to work for some no matter the reward.
