How you only got 140k on a 01?

I've had two suburbans. Great cars, and I loved both of them. Currently have a Tahoe, which is easier to park and get around town in IMO. Its my favorite car I've owned. 320K miles on it, done very little work on it. Had the tranny rebult 2 years ago, 2 water pumps, 1 alternator. Its been a great car, and has literally been coast to coast and border to border.

I keep waiting for the motor to give out. But a friend who is a mechanic says the 00 to 04 chevy V-8s can get to 500K miles.

    Don't drive much.

Had another vehicle for 11 years during the same time, which I sold in 2016.
Only put about 60k on it.

    And let’s be clear:
    I ain’t a “native Texan”.
Not claiming that at all in my tongue-in-cheek original post.

To me, “being Texan” is a state of mind, and I’m learning/loving being exposed to it.

The alternative is this guy, born in El Paso...I don’t think true Texans want to claim him, but YMMV

    pronstar,

IF what people from El Paso, who have known him since high school DAZE, are correct, he is NOT even a "guy" but rather about "half girl".

Went from a Dodge Dakota to a Nissan Versa recently.......student now.....don't need the truck. 19 mpg to 32 mpg. I fill my 10 gallon tank every 2 1/2 -3 weeks.....lol.

Its not a bug out vehicle......but it sure is cheap on gas.

I have a company car, but my wife drives our 2001 GMC Sierra crew cab with a 8.1. I don't get to drive it much. But, last weekend I got to pull a trailer full of furniture from Houston to Horseshoe Bay. I never noticed the trailer behind me and kept the speedometer at 5 miles over speed limit. Man....I love that truck and it only has 200,000 miles on it.

Have a 2011 F350 6.7 long bed, crew cab 4x4. Also have a 2015 VW Passat TDI. Until recently, I had a 1996 F250 7.3 to go with the F350, but had to sell it to get something smaller to drive into the city with & bought the VW. Still love my diesels.

Wife has a gasser 2016 Expedition.

I drive a dented, rusty (a little smelly) 97 GMC Z71. Gas has been in it so long it barely burns and the wife won't even ride in it. Most everything still works, more or less but not like it used to. It has small unexplained leaks occasionally and the headlights are little more than ornamental.

Have to stop now, depressing myself.

Bought the wife a new Equinox, the 2.0 Turbo is peppy but gas mileage averages around 24 mpg.

I've got a 96 GMC extended cab that I bought new. Kinda the same deal. Everytime one of the kids borrows it because their whizbang whatever is in the shop it comes back with several of the car deodorizer thingy scattered around. Think they're trying to tell me something?

Never seen a Suburban "clattermatic" unless it was out of oil and the lifters ran dry.

You think that a 6BT clatters???

You just oughta hear what a 4BT out of a "bread truck" sounds like!!!!

    BUT you can "pull a house" with a 3/4T PU with a 4bt & a HD 5-speed.
