...so I think we’re officially Texans now

Three years ago, we arrived in Texas with a Prius and a Fiat 500e electric clown car.

Now we have a full-size pickup and a Suburban
Bonus points - ‘burb was built in Arlington

Got Mrs. Pronstar the ‘burb a few days ago. Because, you know, Tahoes are too small.

    Got a pretty good deal.
Sticker was $65k, we got it as a 2018 CPO with 30k miles for ~$40k.

Pretty much every factory option - captains chairs, leather, sunroof, 4WD, smooth-ride package, power everything...happy wife, happy life

    6.2 in the suburban?

5.3L unfortunately...or maybe fortunately, given the class action lawsuit GM is facing with the 8-speed tranny that’s mated to the 6.2L

My buddy just bought a CPO Denali pickup about a month ago, it’s been in the shop for tranny issues for two weeks. They’re debating rebuild or replace.

    Learn something every day.

Yeah I was shopping Denalis, really wanted the 6.2L but this deal was too good to pass up.

We’d have been into a Denali for $5k more and 50k+ miles on the clock.

The only things I think we’re missing from a Denali are AC front seats (ours are heated in first two rows), radar cruise control and bigger wheels/tires.

My wife loved her suburbans when we had young kids

    We had a 1997 with a 5.7 and a 2008 4x4 2500 with a 8.1 liter
    That was one badass burb

Such a perfect vehicle to have and also take long trips
Hell, you can fold down the rear seats and put a 4x8 sheet of plywood back there.

I had a 99, my contractor bought it from me about a year or so ago. I regret selling it.
Surprisingly, my wife liked driving it.

3/4 ton Suburbans with the 8.1 are AWESOME.
That motor won’t die...as the 496 Mag (375hp) or 496 Mag HO (425hp), they go thousands of hours in marine use.
    They also still have value.

The ‘burb is rated at 23mpg...same as what we get in the little Bimmer LOL

They still had a 8.1 in 2008? My brother had a 2500 pickup with a 8.1 but it was a 2002. It was strong and reliable, no problems in over 200k miles.

I drive a dented, rusty (a little smelly) 97 GMC Z71. Gas has been in it so long it barely burns and the wife won't even ride in it. Most everything still works, more or less but not like it used to. It has small unexplained leaks occasionally and the headlights are little more than ornamental.

Have to stop now, depressing myself.

Bought the wife a new Equinox, the 2.0 Turbo is peppy but gas mileage averages around 24 mpg.

IF you are what you drive, does that mean I'm now a NOBLEMAN, i.e., a GRAND MARQUIS??
    (LOL)

That would be a promotion from "more or less educated Northeast Texas Hillbilly" for sure.

ADDENDA: This PM, I found a YELLOW/tan leather inside, 1990 Chrysler TC convertible by Maserati with TEN THOUSAND original miles.= It's coming to SA to stay.
