Guns Plus in Georgetown had one when I was in there a few months ago. Can't remember how much they had it listed for. Whatever it is, it's too much seeing you can get PTR for under a grand

However, many persons owning PTR rifles have had problems outside the serial ranges given. Granted, PTR's customer service has been very good about taking care of those outside the ranges as well. But just google search 'ptr 91 issues' and you will see.
I'm not saying stay away from PTR, they make good weapons. However, as with all purchases, make sure the research is done before you buy so you know what you are getting.
Ah, good info. It definitely is a good idea to always do your research. Mine was made well before July 1, 2010, so I guess mine's good. If the problem shows up by 250rds like they claim, its well past that mark, too
Oh and sturmgewehr.com will have some pop up. If you are really wanting the HK (completely understandable as I am a fanboy) then go for it. But a PTR redone by Ghilliebear into a G3K or some other configuration would be pretty frickin sweet. Can't go wrong with ghillie.
