Worth getting the X-Die Small base die from RCBS??

I was looking at some small base dies for my 5.56/.223 and I stumbled across RBCS "X-die" series. Evidentially it claims that it reduces the case trimming to only the first trimming.

Anyone had any experience with them? Does it work? Worth the extra $13 for the dies?

Is that the die system where you raise the ram and on top if its too long the brass is exposed, then you file it down? I might be thinking of something else.
