Winchester 70 pre 64

I made a great trade a few days ago and wound up with a Winchester Mod 70 made in 1963. It's a 30-06 in standard grade. I put a Tasco 3-9x40 on it because Weaver bases were already on it and I had the scope and rings at home. The rifle is original and I can trace ownership to people I've known for a long time. It's seen some use but no one has cut it up or modified it.

What I'd REALLY like to do is find a receiver peep sight because the factory receiver holes are D&T'd and plugged off. The original open rear and ramp front are original. What do I look for in a peep sight?

You'd want to avoid any narrow apertures for hunting purposes.

With one that old you may want to pull the stock and check the bedding and see if its still in tact.
