I still have a couple of bags of #8 and larger shot. I mainly use it for filler in buckshot loads, but could load some 2 3/4" 12 gauge with it too! I think I paid $20 for 25#, but that was several years ago. That's nearly 2X as much as when we were loading lots of shot shells!
Paul,
That old receipt is a hoot!
The lowest price for shot that I recall was $12.50 per 25 pounds.
To get that price I had to buy half a ton. I split it with my friend.
The old Chevy C-10 was kinda wobbly driving home.
There is a place on Jones rd. called TEN RING and the address is 12779 Jones rd Houston Tx 77070.

They carry reloading supplies and also have a nice gun shop.
Lead shot will give you "sticker shock" today. That's why I order it and have it sent to my home. When I was still working, the IRS cost per mile to drive a car (includes maint, tires, oil, gas, insurance) was 28 1/2 cents per mile. I live out in the boonies and if I drove to Katy Mills, that's about 80 miles round trip! At 28 1/2 cents/mile, that's $22.80 I blew to save $5/ bag on shot! If you can find shot at $12 per bag, please let me know.
