HEB Brand Jalapeno Bacon is what gets consumed in this house. Wrights is ok, but IMO HEB is superior.

    I'm hungry... It's 2:00am.... Thanks.....

There's an HEB right across the street from my apartment. I might just have to walk over there and stock up because my roommate just gave me money for rent. I need to get off this thread...

Personally, Im more a fan of the cheaper bacons. I cant remember the exact brand (it may be wrights) that I often pick up at Brookshire's on sale for around $3 a piece, but its by far the best bacon I've ever had. I used to buy bacon at a local meat market, but since trying the store brand stuff, thats all I buy now.

We now buy our bacon (and all of our meats) from a local butcher shop. The quality is amazing, and the cost isn't much more than Brookshire's.

35 posts and no one has mentioned "scrap ends and pieces"? For shame.

You can get a cryopac of that stuff for cheap(er) and have every kind of bacon at once - thin, thick, big chunks of pure meat, big chunks of pure fat, etc. It's a smorgasbord of bacon types all at the same time!

Good point. I take ends and pieces with me hunting and camping every time. Packs in the cooler well and makes for an awesome egg, bacon and whatever else I can find to throw in it, skillet.
