today I bought 300 Hornady 200 gr .348" Flat Point bullets from online vendor that actually had them on sale.

was happy to find them as Hornady has apparently discontinued this bullet recently

If they have been discontinued you might find more of them out there on the sale rack.

true, I only learned that they were discontinued this morning, I already had two hundred on hand, but when I discovered they had been dropped from Hornady's line, felt it was time to do search and build a little supply for future loading before they all disappear.

it's not like I shoot a lot of .348, but I don't care to work up new loads for a new bullet.

I have about 275 rounds loaded and this will give me a total of 500 projectiles on hand for future reloading, by the time I shoot all of that, it will be time to sell the gun and let someone else enjoy it

Was at Schells in The Colony today just looking around and shopping for soccer shin guards for my son (our first time in the store). Seemed to have plenty of rifle ammo and had some PMC-X-Tac 556 for $10 a box...limit 5. Some handgun ammo like 357 sig and such, but otherwise completely out.

Today I put my first 1911 on layaway and made plans to meet up with a gunsmith to have him build my wife a left handed AR

I'm almost a week behind, but I picked up a 5 in. .44 Mag. Bisley Super Blackhawk. Had it cut down from 7 1/2 inches and a post gold bead front sight added. I haven't fired it yet. It's going to be a 300 grain load gun. Garrett and Buffalo Bore. I'd like to smack a big hog in the shoulders with it.

Yesterday, I bought a set of shooting ear muffs because, this now officially old man, forgot his other set at home and the spare set I had in my trunk seems to have vanished. Tried using ear plugs at the range but the ones they gave me there were so small they did very little to reduce the sounds of gunshots. Firgured my ears ring enough already and $22.00 or so (tax included) was not too much to pay to prevent that from getting worse.
