I’m considering the same holster. Details on your decision. Did you order it with spare mag holder too? Which direction?

One of my best friends has one and recommended the hell out of it. I believe all the Axis Slim holsters carry one spare mag. I got right hand dominant with the rounds facing the gun. Most other reviews talk about how comfortable it is. Plus he gave me a 15% off coupon code.

I got shipping confirmation of 200 combined rounds of 30-30 Rem Cor Lokt hp and sp from Freedom Munitions. I just installed this old Vari-X III 2.5-8 on this old battle axe 336C. Want to sight in to understand the impact difference between 150gr SP and 170gr HP. It's freakin' hard to find 30-30 rounds in these days of the pending Apocalypse. If the dumbasses are going to hoard store bought ammo, I guess it makes a lot more sense to panic buy these rounds vs .22LR's.

It depends on what you want to shoot. I have traditionally shot 150g bullets in mine. Then I decided to load some 125g flat HPs for my son to shoot. What a shock those were. Much lighter recoil, but man do they pack a punch. Last pig I shot with it blew the shoulder almost off the backside of the pig. I would shoot anything inside 150 yds with that round. But they are not factory loads.

Truly, I don't think I've shot anything other than a 150g 30-30. The price was right so I went ahead and bought three boxes of the 170 just to see. Besides, you never know when one of those Woodlands elk may saunter by. I do bet that 125g was smoking though. Any idea how fast? The factory says the 170 gr is 2,200fps.

Not sure how fast, but very effective.
