I don’t have another L frame to compare, but I do have a GP100, and I’d say the 686 is smoother. It’s really a decent trigger, on par with the prelock K frame I have. I've read that the lock makes the trigger not as good, but I’m not seasoned enough to tell the difference.

Im about to buy this. That deal ends at midnight. I wanted to ask, was the top strap drilled and tapped? I am pretty sure it is but want to confirm since this model isnt listed on the s&w website

There aren’t any obvious taps along the top, but that’s not to say they couldn’t be under the sight. Unfortunately I’m not in a position to access it today. Sorry

Nice! I would send the slide off to Novak's and have some good sights installed before refinishing.....jmho...I really like the nickel plate finish on 1911's...

Nah, I already have blue & stainless....nickel it is (stock photo factory nickle above) , I could live without the pearl grips tho'...maybe something in gold & silver?
