Been processing some 6.5 grendel for my boss so I had to put those big boxes of 9s and 223s on hold. The 6.5s just went for their last baths. They're gonna get primed tonight and then I'll work up some loads for him.

Bought some bullets for the 308. My son built a 308 AR (with a little help from dad), and I'm going to teach him how to reload. Really excited to be able to do that. Been wanting to teach him for a long time. Hes ready to be taught now.

For the grendel I have 123 eld-m and 123 a-max. I'm not too sure about loading the amax though as I don't think they make those anymore.

I'm about 500 rou ds in on the lee 6 pack pro. I like the press but it's not as fast for me as marketing claims. I'm averaging about 10-15 rounds per minute but that's also checking each primer feed, visually checking powder charge, and in general making sure the bullets aren't falling over and the cases are feeding correctly.

I did run it a bit faster for a few cases but quickly found the primer feeder would jam. There's also the Hassel of reloading the case feeder and bullet feeder. I'm already looking at getting the case collator for the case feeder. The bullet feeder magazine is slow to load though. Luckily it's quickly detachable from the die. I forsee an electric bullet feeder in the future.

I must say though, I'm not a fan of priming on press but so far the only real issue I had (when moving at an appropriate speed) was that the primers not dropping into the chute. About every 10 rounds or so I notice the primers hanging up in the tray so I give it a little tap and it starts again.

I originally looked at the x10 press but for a fraction of the price this press is working great for what I need.

Just primed the 6.5s last night. There were 576 of them. Boss man is a friend so helping him out. He's buying materials. I'm just putting it together. Tonight after work I'll load up 4 or 5 test loads for him to try out this weekend. After we figure out what works best I'll run the rest.

Yeah.... I have a friend at work that doesn't reload, so I end up loading some for him, as well. His dad reloaded, and when he passed, my friend had a lot of stuff to get rid of.... his dad's friends got a lot of it, but he also passed along a bunch of components and things to me....

I just got a Grendel.... I'm still working on it.... I think I'm going to have to run a throating reamer in it to even up the leades.... I have a couple hundred pieces of brass, some of it loaded, but it's all kind of on hold til I figure out the throat issue...

I think it's going to be a hoot to play with... great ballistics, for the amount of powder burned...

I’ve considered getting another 550 to have a dedicated large and small press, but every time I think about shelling out the cash I realize I can change back and forth in under 5 minutes. So why spend the $650?

If you look long enough you can find some good prices on used presses. Still may not justify the price for some, but if you are changing priming system, shell plate, tool head, and need to adjust the powder drop if using the same hopper it can save a bit of time. Having two or more presses ready to go for different calibers is pretty handy.

I don’t disassemble the priming system, I just change between the large and small primer anvil. It’s pretty fast to loosen a set screw, switch anvils, push and hold the handle forward on a primed case, and tighten the set screw.

Not today rather a couple of weeks ago I gave EZ-E my hoard of clean brass, .300 Whisper dies and my stainless pin tumbler. Figure he would get more use out of it than me. If I need any .300 Whisper loaded I just have him load it for me.
